Sewing in the Signatures, Part 3 of 4

Howdy,

I have posted part 3 out of 4 of my mini series on how I make a lot of my books. In this video I show you how I sew the signatures to the backing. It's easier to watch than explain with words...


I’m still trying to figure out my sound, my new mic’s cover is the fuzzy bit in the lower left corner, and my video got cut off while I was filming the sewing process for the second time. So, since I want these videos mainly for my own reference, it is what is, and if someone else gets some value out of them, great!

Materials:


Needle - blunt

Thread - thick, I usedCoats Button Craft

Large paperclips

Awl or other poky tool or large pin

Hole guide - I made mine out of cereal box cardboard

Cradle - I made mine out of the back of a pad of drawing paper roughly inch thick

Incidentals - Ruler, pen, paper cutter, etc.


Backing:

About 11 inches of 1.5 inch wide ribbon

1 - card stock piece, 5.5 inch by 8 or 8 ¼ inches


Cover:

2 - card stock pieces for inside of covers, about 8 ½ by 5 ½ inches (needed in Part 4, Glueing)
