Today I listed one of my small blank journals on Etsy. I made several journals while we were in Saudi and this is one of them. It's time to sell them instead of having them look pretty on my shelves.
Here's the blurb:
Small blank journal - This hand-bound 5 ¾” x 4 ¾” x 1 ⅛” blank journal is filled with a variety of page types: lined, patterned, grid, ledger, and vellum. In the center of each of the 4 signatures is a bound-in envelope. Each signature consists of 11 sheets for a total of 176 sides.
Today I am making some of the tags that are going to go in my new journals. The tags are about 5 x 3.5 inches (roughly 12.5 x 9 cm), double sided, and with tea dyed lace and seam binding toppers. For a change, on these tags I used a slot punch for the hole at the top instead of a round hole with an eyelet. I made my own labels and tea dyed paper (I used scans on these tags). The leaves were collected on a hike, scanned and extracted before adding them to the tea dyed paper. The number stamp I found at Daiso and is my new favorite toy. The ink is from Scrapbook.com (Gingerbread, Dark Chocolate, and Succulent. The dictionary pieces are from a 1959 Webster's Dictionary that had been falling apart for years, but I just knew someday I would have a use for. I am printing with a Cannon Pixma 7020.
Today I was making some more postcards for my dad and I thought I would share my process with you. I have been sending these postcards to my dad for 4-5 months. I started in December 2020 sending him local commercial postcards, one a day, however I soon ran out and started making my own.
When I first started sending him postcards, he thought it was strange, but after a while he began looking forward getting his postcards. Sometimes they arrive singly and sometimes in a group of 2-4.
I miss visiting him, and these postcards brighten both of our days.
In this video I show you how I make postcards from the pictures I have taken in my yard, on walks, at the beach, and on hikes.
To make the postcards, I print my photographs on photo paper at 4x6 inches and the backs on cardstock. The backs are three to a page of 8.5x11 inch (or A4) paper. I cut the backs out either with my paper trimmer or my craft knife. Then I glue the two back-to-back and round the corners. Once they are dry, they are ready to go.
I keep tweaking my camera setup. Hopefully this view is better. Let me know in the comments.
I am in the process of setting up an Etsy shop with some of the things I make, like journals and digitals. Hopefully I'll have it set up tomorrow. Edit: I set up my shop and the three Spring Journals are listed. Hopefully I can get more listed tomorrow.
My first entries are three spring journals. The light pink butterfly, pink floral stem, and flower covers are approximately 5" by 5.75" and the spines are about ⅝". The removable inserts are half sheets of 8.5" by 11" folded in half ( individual pages - 4.25" X 5.5"). The journal contains two inserts - one (pink, purple, or green) decorated for spring and one with lined paper. Both inserts are easily removable as they are bound with the travelers note book style binding. Six quote cards and 3 bunny cards, both sets 2.5" X 3", are included plus other bits. A packet of extra stickers is also included to further personalize the journal. A White Rabbit tag ready to personalize with a name and date and a dangle with charms are attached to the ring on the spine by a bulb pin and a lobster claw respectively. Pictures below...
